Path of Exile 3.27, Keepers of the Flame, unveils a new set of skill gems that can disrupt the dynamics between bow, wand, and intelligence-oriented constructions and combat. Somatic Shell provides a new caster loop of defense and attack. Projectiles impose kinetic defense on an enemy absorbing some of the damage and then exploding in a chain reaction hitting neighbors. This forms the cycle of defense and revenge on itself- ideal when mages enjoy keeping up with it and surviving on hard battles. The mechanic also excels in multi-target battles where explosions can be used to propagate across the groups and hence, make defence attack. Kinetic Fusillade and Kinetic Rain are able to expand the identity of ranged spellfire to wand users. Fusillade allows players to spawn kinetic anomalies, which hover a moment then strike the enemy and chain through numerous other enemies. The chain attack, regulating it with a follow-up to keep the anomalies open will turn the battles into a fighting step dance of volleys and resets. Kinetic Rain is more down to earth, the projectiles fall at designated points, and on hitting the ground, they explode and cause kinetic abnormalities. Its visual accuracy is gratifying to control and the capacity to predict the location of projectiles gives one precision in the space occupied by the battle area. Wall of Force also introduces an aspect of an environmental control in the game of projectiles. The wall is a semi-permeable barrier through which projectiles can be bounced or chained off and this is a new dimension of spatial strategy. The ability to funnel attacks and even redirect damage, as well as, trapping of enemies in the choke zones makes it a tactical tool as much as an offensive tool. When put into creative use, it provides ranged characters the power to create interactions with others, rather than merely respond to them. The kinetic Rain of Impact, or transfigured variant, improves on the formula of the original. It increases accuracy and chaining providing players with a more dependable ground control instrument. Although it is mechanically identical, it is more refined and smooth - it is perfect in those who prefer the predictability of damage patterns rather than the chaotic spread effects. These additions are completed with the clever twists of the new support gems. Windburst is a ranged attacker ability that causes the ranged attacker to consider the distance of the projectile, which rewards hits that hit when they have travelled sufficiently to initiate an additional burst effect. It just fits perfectly in the constructions where movement and timing are done. In the meantime, Living Lightning allows lightning-based casters to have a dependable trigger on secondary strikes so that they can sustain consistent pressure using chaining effects without relying on minion-based mechanisms. Coupled with these jewels, the philosophy of design of the league is to make space, time, and interaction significant.
