Best Three Builds to Farm Gold and Gear in Diablo 4 Season 10

In Diablo 4 Season 10, one lesson quickly becomes clear: farming gold and gear is the lifeblood of progression. You can push through campaign content just fine without worrying too much about efficiency, but once you step into endgame dungeons, chaos events, and competitive ladders, the flow of gold and the quality of your loot directly dictate how far you can go.
Gold underpins everything in this game—it pays for item upgrades, rerolls on affixes, and the endless rounds of enchanting you need to fine-tune your build. Without a healthy pile of it, experimenting with new setups feels like an expensive risk, and even repairing or replacing gear starts to feel like a grind in itself. At the same time, gear farming fuels the real excitement of Diablo 4. That moment when a legendary drops and completely shifts your playstyle never gets old, but it only happens consistently if you've built your character to tear through mobs quickly and reliably. That is why focusing on the right farming setups is so important.
When I first tried different approaches this season, the Mighty Throw Barbarian immediately stood out. There's a satisfying rhythm to the build: you leap into a dense group, hurling weapons with sheer force that knocks back and suppresses anything in your path, then follow up with quakes that finish the survivors. The amount of area control you get makes it perfect for farming because you're not wasting time on cleanup—everything goes down together. With items like the Harlequin Crest boosting both survivability and damage, and aspects that layer even more destruction into your strikes, the build feels like it was designed for endless dungeon clears. Add in Chaos perks such as Deafening Chorus that ramp up the carnage, and you have a character that chews through hordes without slowing down, which is exactly what you want when stacking gold and loot at high speed.
The Hydra Sorcerer offers a completely different feel but no less efficiency. It's one of those builds that lets you sit back a little and watch the battlefield light up. Dropping multiple Hydras and letting them rain down fire while you maintain control with stuns and slows creates a steady, almost relentless pace. There's no downtime either, thanks to the recent improvements to mana sustain—gear like Galvanic Azurite keeps your resources flowing so you're never forced to pause and wait for regeneration. That steady burn means enemies melt just as quickly in dense maps as they do in long boss encounters. For farming, that consistency is invaluable because you don't need to gamble on burst windows; your damage output simply never lets up. Gold piles up, gear rains down, and you can run sessions for hours without ever feeling like the build is running out of steam.
On the darker side of things, the Shadowblight Necromancer has become one of my personal favorites this season. The rework to its shadow damage mechanics has given it a completely new edge. Rather than hitting in big single bursts, it layers damage-over-time effects that spread like a plague through enemy packs. Once Shadowblight takes hold, it's as if the entire map decays at once. This build thrives in high-density areas where one cast can chain into dozens of kills, and those kills fuel the loot and gold drops you're chasing. The added bonus is survivability—your minions take heat off you, debuffs cripple enemy damage, and your toolkit ensures you're not as fragile as other damage dealers. The synergy between shadow multipliers and blight effects can push your numbers to ridiculous levels, which makes every farming run both effective and visually satisfying.
After spending time with each of these builds, I've realized they share a common thread: they don't just kill fast, they kill smart. That's the essence of farming in Diablo 4—you need speed, but you also need reliability and the ability to keep going without constant deaths or resource problems. Gold isn't just a number in this game; it's the freedom to tinker with new builds, the chance to reroll until you finally see the affixes you want, and the means to push your gear further with every upgrade. Gear itself is the other half of that loop, and without efficient farming, you'll always feel a step behind the meta.
Season 10 has made farming more rewarding than ever, but also more competitive, with players racing to perfect builds and climb leaderboards. Whether you find yourself drawn to the sheer brute force of the Barbarian, the tactical consistency of the Sorcerer, or the dark efficiency of the Necromancer, the outcome is the same: more gold, more gear, and more opportunities to mold your character into something powerful. In a game defined by loot, mastering the art of farming isn't just helpful—it's the difference between struggling in endgame content and thriving in it.
